NY Times Article
This article is a perfect example of profiling. Nicholas K. Peart gives us accounts of when he was frisked and stopped. The scenarios that Peart mentions entail no reason on the Police Officers part to have searched him. Also, Peart includes the amount of people in New York City had been stopped by police officers in the last year which was 600,000 and 83% of these people were African Americans and Latinos. This immediately catches the eye and raises the question if profiling and racism is involved? And whether or not police officers overuse their authority by stopping people without probable cause.
