The House of Usher
In this story a man or the narrator goes to see one of his old friend that is sick. When he arrives at the house he notices that it is in shambles and is very old looking. In this story Ushers sister dies and he buries her in the family vault. Usher hears the sound of his sister in the vault and fears that he may have buried her alive. To his nightmare he sees his sister and dies in fear or in shock. In this story the narrator and Usher spend their time together by creating music and reading. At the end of the story we see the narrator run out of the house as the house slowly slides into the river never to be seen again. From that chamber, and from that mansion, I fled aghast. The storm was still abroad in all its wrath as I found myself crossing the old causeway. This quote shows the fear in the Narrator as the house sinks into the lake.
