Hop Frog

Our class as been reading about trickster tales and the latest one we have read was the Hop Frog by Edgar Allen Poe. Hop Frog is a sort of revenge tale because Hop Frog is trying to humiliate the king because he was making fun of him and the girl he is falling in love with. Hop Frog is a typical trickster. Sly and clever, he hides his emotion about to the king from him. This story reminds me of the 9/11/01 attack by the Middle Eastern people. After that happened, the US felt they had to fight back because they thought that the Middle Eastern people were making nuclear weapons.
