Hop-Frog

In what ways is this story a revenge tale? What is the narrator criticizing about the characters? Add a quote about your favorite part.

The story is a revenge tale because the jester was constantly ridiculed by the king and his fiends. Hop-frog took action and made them pay the price for the way they treated him. He set them on fire during the masquerade in front of a multitude of people. The narrator is criticizing the repulsive behavior of the king and his fellows. My favorite quote is "I am simply Hop-Frog, the jester-and this is my last jest," because it says that he has defeated his enemies and is free from the barbarous ways.
