hop-frog

In this story, there is massive revenge brewing the whole time. In the beginning, the king humiliated Hop Frog and hit his girl, but then the jester tricked them into humiliating themselves. The narrator criticizes the king for humiliating the Jester and making him drink wine, even though he cried while doing it. "I shall soon find out who they are.". This is my favorite quote because it shows that the Jester knew the whole time who they were, but still fakes in order to humiliate them. This reminds me of when a fake hero tries to defeat a fake monster, knowing that he will defeat the monster, he still knows that the crowd doesn't.
