There are two trials. The first on is a pit and basically is a hole filled with darkness not letting the accused man know if he will die or not. The second trial is a pendulum, it is like a giant round ax swinging on top of him getting closer and closer. The pendulum was worse because you know your gonna die and when, The author uses the pendulum to his advantage because a pendulum will become more and more dangerous depending on how close it gets to you. "Upon my recovery, too, I felt very -- oh, inexpressibly sick and weak, as if though long inanition." I like this because I like the location it is in compassion to the story and i think it is very well written. Out of all the Edgar Allan Poe stories we read, i liked Tell Tale Heart better because it was most interesting to me.
