Romantic painting

This picture is painted brilliantly showing a dark and more gloomy side brightening up to the right of the painting. It also shows its reflection making it obvious that there must be a lake or pond below it. This painting is almost like death. After death you leave the cruel world and enter into a kingdom of eternal happiness.

Romanticism in American Art

Reading about Asher Durand can help you understand what he was trying to accomplish in the painting "Kindred Spirits," formerly exhibited in the New York Public library. Today's blog is for you to find another painting in the American Romantic tradition, post it on your blog and describe its Romantic aspects.
