Romantic Painting

This painting uses many different factors to enhance its Romanticism. The first and most noticeable factor are the two couples on the walkway and inside the restaurant. The second and less noticeable factor is the sky. The time of day affects the sky by having the sun in just the right position, also the clouds enhance the light from the sun rays expressing that it is happy. It also adds a careful mixture of a city and nature, with flowers on walls and on the bridge. I think the artist used this because nature expresses Romanticism. Finally the painting is not all happy, the restaurant to the left of the painting is not as happy as the rest, it is partly destroyed showing that gloom is a part of Romantic paintings.
