Painting

This is a painting by Albert Pierstadt called "Among the Sierra Nevada, California". This is romantic art because it shows how nature is beautiful, in terms of animals, plants, and natural rock formations. The deer add a sort of calm nature to the painting because deer are very calm animals. The mountains add a sense of beauty because of the calm water around them.

Albert Bierstadt was a German painter in the 17th and early 18th century. He liked to paint things in western America. He was part of the Hudson River School then he grouped in the Rocky Mountain School.

The painting it self i believe is very well painted. Albert uses many different colors, like green, grey, dark blue, blue, and white in his painting. He also uses the element of reflection in the painting. The mountains and waterfalls are being reflected on the lake in the middle of the painting. The lines he uses in the mountain on the left make them look so majestic.

The main focus in the painting is the lake and the mountains because of the reflection the water makes of the mountains. Also because the artist placed them in the middle of the painting. There is a very good balance of nature with the massive mountains in the back, the lake in the middle, the big trees of the right, and the deer of the bottom of the painting. Everything in the painting comes together in unity.
