Miss Lonely Hearts & The Day of the Locust

From what ive read so far this book is very interesting/deceiving but very well written. Miss lonely hearts is actually a man, who writes a column in a news paper. People write to him with there problems, in a page they tell him their problem, then in the end they ask for his advice. So hoping that he will write back, these people share there deep dark secrets to a person they don't even know. Miss Lonely hearts is a very simple room, a smoker and a drinker. He doesn't like to start anything with anyone, and doesn't care for speaking, which is weird because he is a writer. You can tell he is simple because they describe his room as the walls being bare, except for a crucifix. I haven't read much, but from what i have read i defiantly want to read more.
