message in a bottle

In the story, there were a couple of great disasters. the ship and its crew members enter a terrible TEMPEST. Later on the ship is later then hit and destroyed by a whirlpool leaving only 2 survivors. The ship was expected to CRANK. The device of putting a note inside a bottle is very popular because people who write it know one day someone is going to find it and read what they wrote. In the story the survivors PROCURE the bottle making it very mysterious. This message is successful in keeping the readers interested because it makes people follow along in whats going on in the story. When someone finds one of these messages, it tells them what people were going through in their time.

"oh, Horror upon Horror" is my favorite quote because it describes exactly what the survivors were going through.
